Raising Leaders

Raising Leaders
Mamas, your children were born to change the world.
And I challenge you to raise them to do hard things. Teach them the value of adventures. And practice communicating (trust me… this is a skill that takes effort.) Furthermore, focus on what matters most instead of working to fit in and be like everyone else. And get comfortable being different. Likewise, raise your children to be leaders!
But, how do you start? Well, begin with a vision of what you want most for them.
At the time, when our boys were young. We took a different road than most. We forged our own path. And based what we taught on what was most important for our children, as individuals. Instead of conveyor belt education.

Our List
As an example, our list of what we wanted for our children looked like this:
- The ability to think for themselves and ask questions.
- A belief they were born for greatness.
- Awareness that they have a mission and a purpose in this life. And that God has given them strengths and talents to achieve their mission.
- A willingness to work hard.
- Love of God, Family, Freedom.
- A deep love of learning.
- Entrepreneurship.
- Savvy communication skills.
- Confidence in new situations.
- A connection to the outdoors.
- Experience traveling the world and navigating discomfort.
- Permission to follow their dreams.
No Worries
But, do you know what I wasn’t worried about?
The two things our society has been conditioned to believe are the most important of all: academics and social skills. Generally speaking, when you do the rest, those fall into place.
In summary, We were raising men. Indeed, raising leaders. And we had only a few years to teach what was most important. They have their whole lives to build on that foundation.
Mamas, there’s a battle for your children, for their hearts and minds. Unquestionably, You are the lioness at the gate. Use your time with them well. And focus on what matters most.
What are your top priorities?

Hi! I'm Amy Earle
When I was a kid I was obsessed with government and history. I was sure I’d be a high school history teacher. Instead I chose to homeschool my own children. Soon after beginning, I was introduced to the principles of leadership education and the importance of teaching children how to think, instead of simply filling them with what to think. This led me on a journey that changed everything for me. We’ve gone the path less traveled and it has made all the difference.
