The Power of women
One of my favorite articles of all time is called Steel to Gold: Feminism vs StaTeswomanship by Rachel Pinegar DeMille
The Power of Women.
As I’ve navigated motherhood and my place in the world, I’ve returned to this article again and again. Each time I return, I approach as a different woman. I always learn something new. And I leave inspired and more committed to be the woman I am called to be.
Indeed “There is a power that women bring to the table, the power of shaping a community. – of changing its very heart – a power that lasts for generations, not just between elections.”
The Power of Women: Raising Children
As we raise our children, our influence will be felt through generations. As we participate in our community we have impact. Especially on those who will have part in the life of our unborn great-grandchildren.
Therefore our role is to have a vision for the future. And to participate in raising those future generations through our actions today. This is the power of women.
For this reason, “No elected official can do all this. No judge, no senator, no CEO, no high school principle, no Hollywood executive, no media mogul or Federal Reserve banker.
Not even President or Pope can do this.
To clarify they just aren’t powerful enough.
No matter how successful such men or women may be in their sphere. They don’t have the power to raise them (future generations) effectively.
Likewise, no constitution, law or policy has such power. But every woman has it, is born with it. And can reach deep down inside and bring it to the surface, can spend her life doing it.
Welcome to Womanhood
If this seems overwhelming, welcome to womanhood…
In summary, ‘Women have power over generations- and we must use this power or see others usurp and misuse it.”
(Rachel DeMille – Steel to Gold)
Altogether, I’m so proud of the women who are raising their voices and saying, “I am here. I will not be moved.”
No longer will our power be usurped. This is the power of women.
Hi! I'm Amy Earle
When I was a kid I was obsessed with government and history. I was sure I’d be a high school history teacher. Instead I chose to homeschool my own children. Soon after beginning, I was introduced to the principles of leadership education and the importance of teaching children how to think, instead of simply filling them with what to think. This led me on a journey that changed everything for me. We’ve gone the path less traveled and it has made all the difference.
